It’s been a long time coming with reboot after reboot, however it now seems as if Miles Morales will finally be getting his time to shine on the silver screen. Yes, that’s right, Miles Morales is set to get his cinematic debut in Sony’s animated Spider-Man movie.
It was recently announced on Twitter via Sony Pictures that Morales will be taking centre stage in Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey’s adaption of everyone’s favourite webcrawler. With Phil Lord and Chris Miller on writing duties, it’ll be interesting to see which direction the animated Spider-Man movie will go in.
With the pair having made a name for themselves in recent years due their oddball humour in films such as 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie, it’s almost a guarantee that we’re in for a laugh riot. Lord and Miller also be serving as producers in what is being described as a film that will conceptually and visually break new ground in the superhero genre.
With Marvel Studios currently having a big hand to play in Spider-Man: Homecoming which is due for release on July 7th, 2017, it’s safe to say that the animated Spider-Man movie will be Sony’s baby, especially now the live action adaption is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Down below you’ll see Sony’s tweets in regards to the project:
