When it was announced that veteran actor, Kurt Russell would be portraying the father of Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill in the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2, many fans assumed he would be portraying J’Son of Spartax.
The confirmation that he would in fact be portraying Ego the Living Planet, came as a surprise to fans given that typically he was portrayed as a humanoid Planet in every other appearance. While the actors costume was in hand at last years Comic Con, his actual appearance was only seen by those who saw the footage in Hall H. Luckily for the rest of us, we now have an idea of the characters look via the film’s toy line. Read on to check it out.
The reveal came via the popular collectible range, Pop! Funko, which gives us a general idea of what the character will look like when he hits the big screen. While it is scarce on any real details, it does appear to be the same costume seen last year. It’s also a nice touch to show that he has a beard very similar to the one you see on his ‘Planet’ form.
We also have another look at the character via another of the ‘Cutesy Wutesy’ range of toys, Dorbz’. This looks to feature the same costume as we have already seen so it looks as though this will be his main outfit in the film. Hopefully we will still see him in all his ‘Planetty’ glory. You can check out this other model as well as the costume on display at comic con below for comparison:
Hopefully we’ll be given a real look at Russell as the character in the next trailer, if not we’ll be seeing him when Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 hits theatres May 5th.
