I am holding out all my hope for Wonder Woman, not only is it, for me at least, the last chance for the DCEU to truly prove itself. It is important as a landmark in cinema, the first big-budget superhero blockbuster with a female lead and female director, it’s sad that it’s taken the industry this long to get to this place, but it’s here now at the very least. And come June, all eyes will be on Wonder Woman.
I really do hope this film does succeed on every level, and while we won’t be able to judge the final product until it’s released later this year. We can certainly take a look at what has been a pretty fantastic marketing campaign. And with the release of the most recent international trailer, this good track record keeps going!
Now obviously, given that this is in a different language. A language I don’t understand, I can’t judge the story, characters, tone or any sense of plot that the trailer presents.

Oh my word the visuals are so good! The colors pop, the framing is spot on, there’s good variety. Patty Jenkins is really owning the look of the source material. It looks like a very healthy mix of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes films and Captain America: The First Avenger. But also very much like its own thing.
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
