Well this is just going to be a thing that happens, isn’t it? Indeed, when it comes to taking not-so-subtle pot-shots at DC, Marvel seems to frequently employ Deadpool as a means to do so, and indeed the character’s fourth wall breaking nature and self-referencial brand of humour just makes it easier for the writers to do so.
But what is arguably most curious, is that their most recent jab at Zack Snyder, (in Spider-Man/Deadpool #12), is not only done by Spider-Man as opposed to the merc with a mouth, but also appears to take an aim at Zack Snyder’s directing style for 300, instead of at his involvement with the DCEU.
The scenario is simple, Roman god Saturn attacks a santa-convention, and before taking him on Spider-Man comments that the muscular and imposing figure of the god looks like Zack Snyder’s attempt at Santa. Check out the dig in the panel below.
To be honest, there’s no real “new” way to report on stuff like this. And in the end, it’s just a harmless back and forth between the two companies. DC have taken their fair share of digs at Marvel, and likewise Marvel to DC. It’s never gonna end, and who says we can’t enjoy the creative way each company can take a pot-shot to the other.
And besides, it wouldn’t be a Deadpool comic without these sorta jokes.
