The DCEU sure likes to cast actors from 2008’s Watchmen. Well, the connection there is obvious. Zack Snyder oversees the DCEU, and he directed Watchmen. It doesn’t exactly take a detective to figure that out. Billy Crudup was cast in The Flash and Patrick Wilson was just cast as Ocean Master in Aquaman.
It appears that another member of The Watchmen could soon be next.
That’s right. Now, take this with an obvious grain of salt, but – Geoff Johns just recently started following Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach) on Twitter, as seen below:
It’s at least interesting to note as Johns currently follows John Cleese, Armie Hammer, Shad Gaspard and Eza Gonzalez on Twitter.
If the actor is indeed playing a character in the DCEU, it’s obviously unclear who he’d be playing at this point. He was rumored as playing Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman before Jesse Eisenberg was cast.
In Watchmen:
In an alternate 1985 America, costumed superheroes are part of everyday life. When one of his former comrades is murdered, masked vigilante Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) uncovers a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his retired associates, only one of which has true powers, Rorschach glimpses a far-reaching conspiracy involving their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the world’s future.
