One of the great things Deadpool did when it was released was erase Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of the character from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
It was an absolute disgrace to the source material, and retained little-to-no resemblance to our beloved merc with the mouth. And that’s why Reynolds wants a second chance to meet up with Wolverine.
In an interview with EW, the actor explained his desire to meet up with Wolverine in another Deadpool film, and why it’ll be tough to do given that Logan is supposed to be the last time Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine.
“I want Deapdool and Wolverine in a movie together. What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.”
It’d definitely be difficult to do, but it couldn’t be anymore difficult than getting Deadpool made in the first place. And with the studio already working on Deadpool 2 and beginning to plan a third, it probably wouldn’t take much convincing for them to produce a crossover with Wolverine.
The hardest part would be getting back Hugh Jackman, and who knows? Maybe after a break from the role he’ll be keen to return with Deadpool at his side.
