The wait it almost over for comic book fans as Spider-Man: Homecoming will finally get its first full trailer tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to the delight of many Marvel fans around the world. USA Today have recently released new details on Homecoming which reveal a little bit more about the story and what we can expect from Peter Parker.
Tom Holland recently talked about the movie in which he confirms that it’ll be glossing over the death of Uncle Ben and instead focus on developing Peter Parker as an everyday teenager who finds it hard to talk to girls and struggles to save the city. He also went onto describe how Parker’s inexperience will play a big part on the story.
“This is really a movie where Spider-Man’s not the finished article … He really does learn and he makes massive mistakes. It’s nice to see a kid do that and then try to rectify those mistakes.”
Co Producer, Eric Hauserman Carroll, also went onto describe how Spider-Mans inclusion during the events of Captain America: Civil War will have an effect on Parker in a big way:
“He literally just went to Europe with the coolest clique of them all and now he’s back with the academic decathlon and the mathletes and going, ‘What am I doing here?’”
Whilst Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, has teased how Tony Stark’s Spidey suit can do a lot more than we can imagine. This’ll be exciting news for Spider-Man fans as we’ve already witnessed the web wings which is already one extra feature than the two previous iterations had to offer.
It’ll be interesting to see if Spider-Man: Homecoming can live up the hype as many comic book fans have strong opinions on how they feel the character should be portrayed although so far Marvel have been able to keep most people happy. With the inclusion of Robert Downey Jr. and Michael Keaton, it seems as if Homecoming has more than enough star power to draw people in.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
