Two species at war: one flesh, one metal.
The trailer for the fifth Transformers film has finally been released, offering more questions to what exactly the plot will offer in this secret-heavy installment. Dark Ages with what appears to be a flying Predacon, The Third Reich and their Swastikas, military war, exaggerated explosions, a crippled Optimus Prime floating around space, and what appears to be hints of an otherworldly planetary force in space (fingers crossed for Unicron), all with Anthony Hopkins himself providing the narration. Certainly not giving the impression of a Transformers film until we actually see the robots punching around the halfway mark.
Of course, the final shot of Optimus Prime attempting to kill fellow Autobot Bumblebee with an uttered “Forgive me” is easily the biggest eyebrow raiser for the common fan.

Directed again my Michael Bay, this time the screenplay will be written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (previous credits of the two include Iron Man and Punisher: War Zone), as well as Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). A credit without Ehren Kruger might be a good step in the right direction for this one.
The film stars Laura Haddock,Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, John Goodman, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner, Gil Birmingham, and Jean Dujardin. It also features the return of Optimus and Megatron veterans Peter Cullen and Frank Welker.
It appears that the film will feature more mythos of the history of the Transformers (especially the Primes), and fan favorite Dinobot will have a larger role, cited to be “a naughty dog in this movie. He’s really sheepish when he does something wrong.” IMAX shots will be much more frequent as opposed to other films, so all the action shots that people are looking for may just be what people want.
Transformers 5: The Last Knight rolls out June 23rd, 2017.
