Earlier this week we were given our first look at Zordon’s trusty assistant, Alpha-5, who is set to be portrayed by SNL favourite Bill Hader in the upcoming reboot of the Power Rangers franchise.
As with much of what has been revealed for this film, it is a drastic departure from the original source material. Naturally fans were quick to take to social media to express their dissatisfaction at the redesign.
In the original show, Alpha-5 had a much more humanoid appearance whilst this new version seems to be focussing much more on alien aspect of the character. This means the character has much more of an extraterrestrial look whilst still keeping the classic flying saucer shaped head.
