According to a report from The Wrap, the upcoming Justice League film will feature the Green Lantern in what is called a “key sequence”.
We actually reported that the character would be appearing in the film months ago, and you can check that, though it wasn’t as official as this could be, as well as other leaks (that seem to be coming true) we first reported.
In case you missed it monthts ago, though, here’s the alleged plot for the Green Lantern Corps movie that WB is planning:
Green Lantern Corps will be an adaptation of Sinestro Corps War. Will have Guy Gardner, John Stewart, and Hal Jordan as the only human lanterns. Red Lanterns won’t appear but will be teased.
The character’s inclusion makes sense, given that Warner Bros. has a Green Lantern Corps film scheduled for release in 2020, and what better introduction for the character than in the Justice League movie?
It also seems rather poetic, considering Hal Jordan (one of many Green Lanterns) was a founding member of the Justice League in The Brave and the Bold #28.
The Green Lantern also had a previous live-action adaptation in 2011, with a film that was hated by audiences. Fans have been waiting ever since to see a proper version of the story – and hopefully this appearance will lead to a proper Green Lantern movie.
Now it’s just a matter of how big or small the Green Lantern’s appearance will be, and whether or not it’ll actually happen. But given that the Green Lantern Corps movie is expected in 2020 – I think it’s safe to assume our beloved Lantern will be in the flick.
