Video: Man of Steel Reimagined In Style of LOGAN Trailer

    By Jennifer HuneycuttNovember 17, 2016

Thanks to the incredible trailer for “Logan,” Hugh Jackman’s final film as the mutant Wolverine, we were shown yet again that Johnny Cash’s “Hurt” can lend some serious weight to just about any footage.

This time around, the Man In Black’s cover of the Nine Inch Nails classic is applied to footage from “Man of Steel,” casting Clark Kent in an even more somber and sympathetic light than the film did originally.

Constructed by YouTube user Gage Masterson, the footage focuses on the juxtaposition of Clark’s humble upbringing by loving parents, against the super-powered defender of Earth and vanquisher of evil he would become. And the scene where Zod holds a handful of Kryptonian soil while the song laments, “you could have it all, my empire of dirt,” is simple but brilliant.
