Alright anime fans, the live action Fullmetal Alchemist trailer has finally dropped and it’s just the right amount of taste to wet your whistle.
The trailer for the adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s manga gives us a glimpse of the world of the series. There are a few landscape shots, some alchemy and of course, the transmutation circles that fans will instantly recognize. We don’t get a clear look at Ryosuke Yamda, who plays Edward Elric, but you do see that iconic blonde hair, red jacket , and him doing his thing as he’s about to perform some serious bad ass looking alchemy.
We even get a little bit of action and then comes that tearful moment of Edward resting his head on his brother Alphonse’s metallic chest and from the looks of it, the character will mostly be CGI. There’s still no announcement of who will voice the younger brother.
Check out the trailer below:
The Story follows the adventures of brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who are searching for the Philosopher’s Stone so they can regain the bodies they lost in a failed attempt to bring their dead mother back to life.
Director Fumihiko Sori, of Ichi and Tomorrow’s Joe fame, will tackle this project with some of the side characters already cast.
Principal Photography has been completed in Italy and the film is set to be released 2017 winter in Japan. Hopefully fans can wait just a little bit longer and won’t go mad from anticipation.
