With the recent departure of Tim Miller from the director’s chair and composer Junkie XL following suit, it’s no surprise such large key players of the last film would have an impact on the production of Deadpool 2.
Source has come from Collider that the scheduled filming to start in January has been made to a slight delay. The Merc with a Mouth has shifted down to a March shooting, and despite the dismay of fans for waiting longer, it may be safer to not rush the production. Let’s face it though, the patience fans had for the original being made since 2009 is something to show how long such support can hold out, so the relevance of Deadpool won’t be dying down anytime soon.
In the meantime, the search for a new director is in the works and whoever gets the job is going to have to start working immediately with approving the script as the first priority. Miller’s reason of absence was creative differences with actor Ryan Reynolds allegedy over budgets scopes and casting of Cable. Word has it that John Wick director David Leitch is a top contender for director, as Ryan Reynolds has met with him the weekend to Miller’s exit. Quentin Tarantino was also mentioned to be Reynold’s original choice of director. From here, we’ll just need to stay tuned for updates.
