Mel Gibson, whose career started with his 1979 breakthrough role in George Miller’s Mad Max, happens to have a spectacular eye for action. And this eye has carried over with his return to directing, in the form of 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge.
And George Miller has similarly proven he still has an eye for action with the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road. The film, featuring an all-new cast, has made a lot of fans of the franchise curious to hear what Gibson has to say. And now we know.
Calling the editing work “stunning”, he went on to say this during a video interview with Collider:
“It’s visually spectacular. It’s crazy, but that’s George. He’s a scientist, he’s the Einstein of the edit and of being able to get the pieces necessary to make a truly compelling in-your-face action sequence.”
The actor-turned-director revealed that he has a variety of other projects in the pipeline, while George Miller is hard at work in crafting a sequel to Fury Road titled Mad Max: The Wasteland.
