The working title for Deadpool 2 is now revealed thanks to a little production note. The film, currently looking for a director and finishing up casting, is being referred to as “Love Machine”. Why that, you ask? It’s likely a reference to Cable, a cybernetic mutant and sidekick of Deadpool which will be making his debut in the film.
Unfortunately for the film, however, director Tim Miller – who played a large part in developing and directing the first outing – has left production. This has to do with creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds. Apparently they argued over Cable’s casting choices and which tone would best suit the film.
The first film followed Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
At any rate, the sequel is still racing through pre-production, and has a release date locked for January 12, 2018.
