Justice League director Zack Snyder has shared behind the scenes footage from the film’s London set, and there are some pretty cool tidbits included.
In a shot that’s destined for the gag reel, Aquaman actor Jason Momoa messes up twirling his spear before pulling Wonder Woman’s sword from its sheath, cracking everyone up. Brief shots of Flash and Cyborg are seen as well.
We also get a look at Batman, aka Ben Affleck, working behind the camera, sharing some of his directing expertise with Snyder. The two no doubt worked very closely on the film’s direction, since Affleck will be in the director’s chair for The Batman, and continuity is a must in a shared universe.
But perhaps the most interesting part is the one we’re not entirely sure we saw. After (Spoiler Alert!) Superman’s death at the end of Dawn of Justice, we were given a hint that he wouldn’t stay dead for long, in the form of the handful of dirt Lois dropped on his coffin beginning to vibrate and rise.
In the comics, “Death of Superman” was a *huge* story. He didn’t remain dead for long there either, but he was a bit different when he returned to the land of the living. The artists wanted his appearance to reflect that, so he was drawn with an all-black super suit, long black hair, and a full beard – pretty much the polar opposite of the clean-cut boy scout everyone had been used to for decades.
Last day filming in the UK. It has been an amazing shoot. Big thanks to everyone involved! #JusticeLeague pic.twitter.com/TEjEdlo81u

Which brings us to the interesting bit in the video. At around the :44 mark, a black-haired man in a black suit is seen using a cable to make a huge leap across some sort of underground room:
While it’s possible that the man in question is Batman, it seems unlikely, given the absence of gloves, which typically remain on even when he removes the cowl. Superman, however, never wears gloves, so that tips the scales in his favor.
It will be interesting to see how Snyder continues to incorporate aspects of the Death of Superman storyline as Kal-El’s evolution moves forward.
Do you think the man in black is Superman? If not, who do you think it is? Let us know in the comments!
