Officer William Brewer of Madison, Georgia is living a double life.
By day, he’s a police officer. But by night – he’s IRON MAN.
Officer Brewer had a goal after watching a documentary about terminal illness:
One day, I came across a documentary of a child with a terminal illness, and it got me thinking. What is something I can do to put a smile on a child’s face? What is something that will get their mind off the disease they are fighting? One thought came to mind… a super hero. Every child has a favorite super hero they look up to or admire.”
During the visits, Officer Brewer hands out toys while wearing an Iron Man suit – and the suit is almost as amazing as the Officer’s act of kindness. Even for just a moment – he makes those children forget their pain and just smile.
Coming from someone who has a son of their own – what he’s doing is pretty damn great. And in a time where cops are coming under scrutiny in the United States, I think it’s important to remember that not ALL cops are bad.
We could all learn a thing (or a million) from Officer Brewer.
I’m sure Tony Stark would approve as well.
