The Avengers has brought a revolutionary concept and presence to the superhero and comic genre. Especially thanks to its blockbuster film, this was the first movie to successfully capitalize on an enormous crossover of iconic characters, every fandom’s biggest dream come true, and changing the ways of superhero films forever and showing no signs of stopping.
The birth of the film has also had the industry realize its huge market appeal, with merchandise, spin-offs, comics, video games and much more. Even to some point, more “adult” sources push out the mass attention of the franchise with online slots websites skinning their likeness to the heroic assembly.
However, things may take a different turn with the series as previously suspected. LRM, who have ironically broke out the possibility of the Avengers: Infinity War film being an adaptation of both Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War story line from the comics, mentions it will actually stay more faithful with the former and may not even partake in the latter title of the same name as the film.
Understandably, having to push two stories into one may be a big step, which could have made more sense in a two-parter as it was initially planned. There is a multitude of reasons, with one being the set-up for Thanos having to collect all the Infinity Stones unlike the start of the comic where he has them all collected, and the fact that Infinity War would have to set up the presence of Adam Warlock and Magus, which would have to take more time from the film as is. Seems the Infinity War will not be like the actual namesake of the comics. Marvel and layered set-up are the big combo duo with these films.
There are a lot of unanswered questions when it comes to what will happen once the Marvel Cinematic Universe ends, including if they will re-cast a lot of the iconic roles or just simply keep going – but personally, I’m not one to really think about that kind of stuff. Just enjoy the ride!
Avengers: Infinity War starts filming November, with an initial release date of April 25th, 2018.
