While I was doing my normal internet scrolling this morning, I stumbled upon something that really caught my eye. A fan made super cut for the Avengers vs X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Let me start out by saying that, in terms of comic book universes, I am very biased when it comes to Marvel and DC. When it comes to actual comics, I am a firm believer that DC leads the pack. With the new Rebirth coming in full swing, comic book fans are really eating up what DC is putting out.
Having said all of that, when talking about the cinematic universe, it doesn’t take a genius to know that Marvel is completely killing the game. Even though Marvel doesn’t technically have rights to X-Men, this fan made trailer gives us a glimpse into what could possibly be the future of the true Marvel cinematic universe. If some or not all of the owning companies, like 20th Century Fox and Sony, would just stop trying so hard to block out Marvel from getting to their characters, we could have a truly immersive Marvel Universe. Who wouldn’t want to see the Hulk fight Wolverine. Magneto vs Iron Man. And dare I say it… Deadpool finally taking on Spider-Man! We catch bits and pieces of this through this well done trailer.

What I really enjoyed about this trailer, was that the fan used old X-Men splices instead of the new ones. And let’s talk about that for a second. After the huge world wide success that was Captain America: Civil War, an Avenger vs X-Men movie could really help pump some life blood back into the cluster fuck the X-Men franchise has become. We can all admit it, X-Men: Apocalypse really left fans a little lack luster, and that is truly unfortunate.
I remember being a young kid and going to see the original X-Men and Spider-Man in theaters and being completely blown away by how awesome it was to see some of my favorite comic book heroes (my name is Logan, Wolverine’s name is Logan, of course he’s one of my favorites) finally make it to the big screen. But when I left the theater after seeing Apocalypse, it was exactly that, I lacked the luster to keep putting faith in 20th Century Fox.
This fan made trailer gave me a little bit of hope. Obviously, there is absolutely no proof that these two universes will come together, but there are gleams of hope. In the Deadpool movie, he has an open relationship with the X-Men. And let’s not forget how we all collectively shit our pants around the world when we saw Spider-Man take Captain America’s shield in Civil War. So, as I said, there is hope – even if it is tiny.
What do you think? Would you want to see Avengers vs X-men like in the comics!? Let us know in the comments below!
