Marvel prides itself on its connectivity. Ranging from cameos to a whole load of Easter eggs, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has well and truly expanded beyond anyone’s expectations. When Marvel announced their partnership with Netflix to produce a variety of TV shows, many fans were eager to see the characters from the smaller screen one day show up on the silver screen. Unfortunately however it doesn’t seem like that’ll happen anytime soon, as James Gunn recently answered a few questions on his Facebook page from his legion of fans.
In response to whether or not the Marvel TV characters (specifically the ones on Netflix) would be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War, Gunn had this to say:
“I don’t think we’re going to see much interactions between the Marvel TV universe and the MCU in the near future.”
Although it’s hardly surprising, it certainly does seem like a missed opportunity, especially considering how great the Netflix series have been so far. It looks like we’ll just have to make do with the eventual Defenders team up instead!
