Die Antwoord Accuse David Ayer of Stealing Their Style For Suicide Squad

 

One of the aspects of the new Joker which drew the most criticism was his outrageous look, which many people felt was fairly ridiculous and not a good look at all. However, there is someone who really liked the look and that is South African Rap Rave group, Die Antwoord, who have now accused Suicide Squad director David Ayer of ripping off their style.

Taking to her official Instagram, one half of the band, Yolandi Visser posted a video featuring side by side comparisons of Leto’s Joker with band member Ninja. She also made reference to the the fact the pair were invited to the film’s premiere, seemingly implying that Ayer knew what he was doing. You can check out the post and the comparison video below. For reference ‘jockin’ refers to taking somebody else’s style:

Den poor ninja had to sit thru dat hole bullshit movie. An u even got da nerve to say wassup to him smilin – an ninja has to b nice cus he is there wif his kid. But we all tink u wack. U shud start a crew called:,”im a fake fuck” ask kanye if he wants to join u. Cum show ur pretty face at my studios. It’s been a bad week for Ayer with Suicide Squad not only receiving a measly 26% on Rotten Tomatoes, but a 41% drop off in it’s opening weekend. This will likely come as another blow to the director (not really).
