Jared Leto has made much talk with the latest film in the DC Cinematic Universe, Suicide Squad, as the debut to his take on the iconic Clown Prince of Crime. With only so much footage saved for the actual theatrical cut, there is so much Joker we have yet to experience. However, that doesn’t stop talks of future interactions and more of Leto’s character to surface into other films.
One of the potential crossovers to come eventually, Leto made it known it would be “fun” to see Joker interact with the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) himself. As to a “how would it go?”, Leto described Joker’s reaction:
“Ah, ‘Who?’ That would probably be his answer. ‘Super-who? Superboy? He sounds cute. Tights? A cape?’
Leto did elaborate a bit more on what would make it work.
The Joker and Superman would be interesting to see onscreen because Superman’s so stoic and morally centred. I think that the Joker would really enjoy that. Superman is just the classic hero and the Joker opposite any classic hero would be really interesting.”
With Man of Steel 2 recently announced back in production and more films to be announced down the line, it would be interesting to see a real “World’s Finest” tag team for it to happen. Then again, the real question would be how this universe’s Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) would be able to handle Joker.
