One of the most important aspects of crafting a Suicide Squad movie is the team itself and while most of the characters are given plenty of screen time – there was one member who seemed to be very much left on the sidelines and that is Adam Beach’s Slipknot. However, the actor himself has delved deeper into the characters origins.
During the film, we were shown how each of the members came to be an employee of Amanda Waller with the notable exception of Slipknot – who didn’t join the team until much later on. Luckily, we now know courtesy of Empires news editor Nick de Demlyen who caught up with the actor during the magazines visit to the set.
The answer given was revealed by de Demlyen on his official Twitter page in a tweet which you can see below:

While this likely to be a joke of Beach’s part it certainly would have been interesting to be given a bit more of a back story for the villain, a list of rumored deleted scenes which you can check out here does reveal that Slipknot was due to be fleshed out slightly more, painting him in a much darker light.
You can check out Slipknot and the rest of the team in Suicide Squad in theaters now.
