Last month, Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick revealed her interest in playing Marvel comics hero, Squirrel Girl. Now, the actress has received an ringing endorsement from a director with ties to Marvel.
Okay, those ties may not be as strong as they one were but they were there once, dammit! Anyway, the person I’m referring to is one-time Ant-Man director, Edgar Wright. Wright took to his Twitter to offer support to his Scott Pilgrim vs. The World actress in her pursuit of the role. You can check out the tweet below:
In Scott Pilgrim: Superman, Cap America, Human Torch, Punisher, Cap Marvel, Lego Robin & The Atom. Get @AnnaKendrick47 a Squirrel Girl film.

@AnnaKendrick47 In this movie you have to fight all those other characters. Deal?

Kendrick would certainly be a great fit for the character, although one can’t help but feel he may be bias, given that he once dated the actress. Perhaps this would be what the director needs to get him back on Team Marvel.
What do you think? Do you agree with the director? Could you see the actress in this role? Let us know below!
