During its first Season, many fans were disappointed by the lack of superpowers on display in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This was rectified in the show’s second season, when it introduced the race of characters known as the Inhumans in to the MCU. However, it didn’t introduce any of the key characters from the comics, due to the then upcoming Inhumans film. But now with the film being removed from Marvel’s upcoming slate, we could be seeing the Inhuman Royal Family make the transition to the small screen. Read on to find out.
Speaking to io9, the show’s executive producer Jed Whedon revealed that they currently have ‘a little more freedom‘ when it comes to the Inhuman characters in the upcoming season. He also went on to say:
“When we return to focusing on Inhumans, we’ll be able to do a little bit more.”
Which seemingly indicates that stuff previously off-limits references will be opened up in the Season Four.
So far the only Inhuman who made the transition from page to screen is the character Lash, who was portrayed by Matt Willig in the shows last season. The show has however, retconned several characters origins as Inhuman including Daisy Johnson’s Quake and J.T. Slade’s Hellfire.
It was confirmed at last weekends San Diego Comic Con, that the upcoming fourth season will introduce the Robbie Reyes incarnation of Ghost Rider played by Gabriel Luna.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return to screens September 20th, 2016.
