Given that anything from an Intergalactic space station to a medieval battleground can now be created in soundstage, it’s rare that a film will opt for a practical set on such a large scale. But that’s just what Marvel Studios looks to be doing with next years Thor: Ragnarok if recent pictures from the set are anything to go by.
The pictures come courtesy of MarvelStudiosMovies on Twitter and get us a look at the impressive set currently being built as part of the films production on the Gold Coast of Australia. The set itself definitely looks as though it is going to be some form of Asgardian architecture as seen in the previous two entry’s Thor and Thor: The Dark World. The film has been described as being a ‘cosmic road trip’ featuring Thor and fellow Avenger, The Incredible Hulk, but this construction definitely highlights that they will be seeing plenty of action in the Asgardian city. Concept art released for the film, did show Cate Blanchett’s Hela marching upon the city so it is entirely possible that we’ll be seeing the queen of the dead walking these streets.
Hopefully we’ll be seeing more photos from the set over the coming weeks. Thor: Ragnarok will be hitting theatres November 3rd, 2017.
