Deadpool was a movie that stayed in development Hell for a very, very long time. FOX was scared to make the film due to the R-rated tone that a character like Deadpool needs – and we all saw what happened in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But – we all got the movie that we wanted in February 2016, so there’s no need to complain any longer.
That doesn’t mean that there weren’t other pitches for a Deadpool film. Filmmaker Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) pitched a version of the film and Kelton Cram, a professional conceptual artist pitched his idea for Deadpool’s look. It’s definitely interesting:
While commenting on what he was going for with the look, here’s what Cram had to say:
“We wanted to try a completely new direction with the suit. More of an origin suit — a self-made, makeshift suit made from motorcycle gear. As with most origin stories, this suit would go through a transition, eventually becoming something closer to the one he wears in the comics (much like the suit Blur created for Ryan Reynolds).”
I’m not sure how the reaction would have been if they would have went with that suit.
