One of the biggest MVP’s in this summers Captain America: Civil War was most definately Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther. Not only was Boseman damn near perfect in the role, but also the characters suit was nothing short of spectacular. However some recently released concept art has shown us just how differently he could have looked.
Check it out below:
An early concept design I got to paint of #BlackPanther for #CaptainAmericaCivilWar Was going for a very tribal look pic.twitter.com/ApUqWNNNcK

The artwork comes courtesy of conceptual artist, Andy Park and offers up a vastly different look to the character as you can see below. While a lot of the body looks similar to what we saw on the big screen with the detailing on the suit being a lot more pronounced, it’s the mask that really changed. The mask in the artwork definately gives a much more robotic look, feeling more at home on the shoulders of a Transformer than the Wakandan prince. It is good to see that the characters ceremonial necklace was always a part of the character’s look.
Be sure to also check out Parks concept art for other characters, including Hawkeye and Black Widow.
We can check out Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther when he makes his solo film debut in Black Panther when it’s released July 6th, 2018.
