Previously, we reported that former WWE wrestler, Cody Rhodes, would be guest-starring on Arrow this next season. This last year, while still wrestling under the name Stardust, he and Arrow star Stephen Amell had a feud that stretched from social media onto the ring.
The name of Rhodes’s upcoming character hasn’t been revealed just yet. But he did give us a little tease via Twitter:

The back of his jacket reads “Destroy Queen,” which almost confirms that his role will be a villain. But notice how it says “Queen,” and not “Green Arrow.” Now, this may be looking too far into it, but this is how teases go– you gotta pay attention to the minor details.
Back in Season Three, Roy Harper, a.k.a. Arsenal, masqueraded as the Arrow to throw people off of Oliver Queen. Therefore, since Roy faked his death in jail, the general public believed that the Arrow was dead. However, at the beginning of Season Four, Queen announced a new identity as the Green Arrow, getting a little closer to the comic book source material. Though, besides a select handful, nobody knows who’s under this hood.
At the Season Four finale, Queen was elected mayor. Throughout the season, he ran a campaign for the office, but stepped down due to issues with the season’s antagonist, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough). But that didn’t stop the public from electing him anyway.
This draws conclusion that Rhodes will be a force connected to this newfound politician. Surely though, given the athletic background of the WWE superstar, he’ll play a dual role as a villain for Green Arrow to go up against.
Since they like to recycle Batman villains, lets just say he’ll play Bane. Maybe he’s mad at City Hall for incarcerating his mother, to whom gave birth to him in prison.
Season Five of Arrow, with Cody Rhodes, Rick Gonzalez, and Carly Pope all making guest appearances, will grace your television screens on Wednesday, October 5th.
