Next month will see the debut of the DCEU take of longtime Batman nemesis, The Joker, in Suicide Squad where he is set to be played by Dallas Buyers Club actor Jared Leto. But where the character will pop up after that is currently unknown, although some recent evidence seems to point to him appearing as early as next year. Read on to find out where.
On his official Twitter last week, Leto revealed that he was currently visiting the city of London, and while this could simply be a case of an actor taking a much needed break from his busy schedule it should be noted that the city is currently home to the Justice League production. Given that it is fairly late into production and the fact that he was already back in Los Angeles by that evening, we shouldn’t really expect it to be a large role in the story, possibly more akin to a cameo. Based on the addition of J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and the scene descriptions released, we know that a portion of the film will be taking place in the Clown Prince of Crimes stomping ground of Gotham city.

It has previously been revealed that Jesse Eisenberg will be returning as Lex Luthor for the film in some capacity, and the recently released Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Cut reveals that the character is in fact headed to Gothams resident Loony bin, Arkham Asylum. Supposing, Batman doesn’t quench his insatiable bloodlust and kill The Joker in Suicide Squad, a scene in Arkham would be the perfect way of catching up with the character. With Mistah J possibly making an appearance, does that mean that Harley Quinn won’t be far behind, or is she too busy with her new friends?
We’ll find out the characters situation when he makes his debut in Suicide Squad when it hits screens August 5th. If he does make it into Justice League, we’ll also be seeing him when that is released 17th November 2017.
