Back when Sony was planning their Spidey-verse, to be spun off from the Andrew Garfield-starring Amazing Spider-Man series, there were plans for a movie called Glass Ceilings. This was to be a team of female heroes within the Marvel rights Sony owned. Such team was rumored to comprise of Spider-Gwen, Black Cat, and Silver Sable.
Now that Sony has made a partnership with Marvel Studios (a.k.a the MCU), it sounds like there are now talks for a movie of just Silver Sable.
Vloggers, Meet the Movie Press, spoke about this new rumor on their June 24th episode.
“Now, this might be pure speculation, but…I spoke to Eli Roth, and Eli Roth is talking to a studio about a comic book character, that the studio did not know that they had the rights to, that he is interested in turning into a movie.”
Silver Sable leads a group of mercenaries called Wild Pack. So, more than likely, the movie would feature the whole group.
Now, if this movie would exist within the MCU, or as a stand-alone, it isn’t certain. It could very well exist within the universe that Sony plans for their Venom stand-alone film. As I theorized before, such would still exist within the Amazing-verse, and could very well see Andrew Garfield reprise his role.
Keep in mind, this is still a rumor, so not very many details have been offered. But what has been offered, is that, besides Eli Roth attached to direct, it would see Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady, The Invisible Woman, despite sounding like Marvel titles, neither are) as the screenwriter.
