We all know that Cable will be in the next Deadpool movie however many fans have started to speculate at who else we could see join the dysfunctional duo. There’s been plenty of rumors in recent years that Fox intends to create an X-Men universe however thus far, those plans seem to have hit roadblock after roadblock. With the rebooted Fantastic Four failing with fans and critics alike and Gambit being stuck in development hell, it seems as if Fox haven’t got many places (or characters) to turn to.
Deadpool’s surprising success has in many ways saved Fox from failing it’s fans and now it seems everyone wants a part in it. Recently Evan Peters spoke with The Wrap who asked him about whether or not he’d like his own solo film. Although he seemed keen on the idea, he was rather skeptical on pulling it off due to his show stealing scene in X-Men: Apocalypse taking 3 months to shoot. He did however express his desire for Quicksilver to team up with the everyone’s favorite mercenary in their very own spin off film:
“I would like to see a Deadpool/Quicksilver movie, I think that would be really fun.”
Although both characters would make for great chemistry, the likelihood of this ever happening is slim to none. With Hugh Jackman hanging up his claws next year, it seems as if Fox will need to buck up their ideas if they ever want to launch their own cinematic universe. As for now, well we can only wait and see what projects finally make it to fruition.
