Shoes, weird shit happening and India style perversion. It was a slow week in new trailers but we were able to find the ones that you might want to check out. Let the previews begin.
Kicks
What happens when you get a fresh pair of Jordans but later get yo’ shit stolen? Well, you pack up your homies and look for the foo that robbed you. This is the story of Brandon, as the coming age film follows him on his quest to retrieve his shoes. That might sound boring, but the way the film presents it takes you on an interesting story through the inner city of Oakland and the people that live there. This is the debut film of director Justin Tipping and from the looks of it, he might have a bright future in this industry. – Mark Salcido
Stranger Things
After watching the trailer, I can honestly say the mystery wrapped up in it is so good I almost couldn’t say what the movie is actually about. At first, I thought it would be about something supernatural happening in a small town. Then I thought maybe all of the lights flickering were just happenstance and might be useful in the way stories use lights as some sort of foreshadowing. It looked like the kid might have been abducted and the story is really about the mystery of what might have happened to him and his mother’s fight for the truth. Normally, I don’t like not knowing what a trailer is trying to tell me, but this is obviously on purpose and I really want to unravel the mystery.

Brahman Naman
America has Corky’s, India has Brahman Naman. The film follows a simple premise; a champion college quizzing team tries to win the all-India finale and try to lose their virginities in the process. The jokes are filled with perversion, and that’s not a bad thing in this case as it shows that all cultures have a great sense of relatable humor. Netflix grabbed this one out of Sundance and judging from the awards it took home, that might’ve been a very smart move. -Mark Salcido
