Who is Star-Lord going to challenge to a dance-off next year, turdblossoms? Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 is in the process of filming right now. Surely, there’s gotta be someone to fill Ronan the Accuser’s shoes. He’s gotta be able to take what actor, Lee Pace, left, and carry the Guardians over to their possible appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.
Well, according to JoBlo.com, he’s not a he, but a Her. Not just any her, but a Her with a capital H. Elizabeth Ebicki, who has already been reported to have a role in the film, will evidently play Her, also known as Ayesha, also known as Kismet, also known as Paragon.
The Marvel Encyclopedia says,
“Originally called Paragon, or Her, Ayesha was created by a group of scientists known as the Enclave. Hoping to create a perfect life form, they created a being called Him, but Him refused to be controlled. Paragon also rebelled, destroying the Enclave’s base. After meditating in a cocoon, she emerged as Her, able to tap into pure cosmic energy. She hoped to mate with Him (now known as Adam Warlock), pursuing him even through death and return to life, but he spurned her. She then turned her attentions to Quasar, during which time she was known as Kismet.”
A few months back, we reported that Kurt Russell was rumored to play Adam Warlock, the Him to her Her. If Warlock is in the picture, whether he’s played by Russell, or someone else, they could have that connection to each other.
Quasar was the son of Mar’Vell, another hopeful for this space opera, and for Russell to play. Mar’Vell’s presence could also lead to another Marvel project, Captain Marvel. Carol Danvers is reported to be the title character, but readers will know that he was the first Captain Marvel.
If director, James Gunn, plans to set Her for the villain, then fingers crossed that either one of these other cosmic characters she’s affiliated with will have a presence.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will crash land into theaters on May 5th, 2017. By then, we’ll surely know who Kurt Russell will be playing, and how that ties to him being Quill’s father. If that has something to do with Ebicki’s character, we’ll have to wait and see.
