Since taking on the role of Captain America, Chris Evans has appeared on our screen every year since 2011 as the Star-Spangled man, if you include a cameo in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World of course. But with his next appearance not scheduled until 2018, in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 will next year be our first Cap-Less year? Not if Chris Evans has anything to say about it.
Speaking to MTV news, the Fantastic Four actor offered up two possible places his character could appear next year, telling the interviewer ‘Guardians would be fun, wouldn’t it? but it’s very outer spacey. Cap’s more of an Earth-bound guy.‘ Before adding:
“Maybe the next Spider-Mans, Those are going to be fantastic, and I think Tom [Holland]’s just a great actor, so that might be a fun one to pop up into.”
Of the two, Spider-Man: Homecoming definitely feels the most likely option although with Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark already set to appear, it may detract from the film’s titular character. Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 on the other hand would definitely be interesting to see, especially since Cap is still getting to grips with present day earth, let alone the rest of the Galaxy. But then again, seeing him interact with the Guardians would definitely be something to behold.
Given how the mid-credit scene in Captain America: Civil War went down, 2018’s Black Panther definitely seems like the most likely scenario. Until then we can be safe in the knowledge that we’ll be seeing him again in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 when it hits theaters May 4th, 2018.
What do you think? Where do you think we’ll see Cap next? Who would you like to see him team up with? Let us know below!
