Marvel announced their Phase 3 slate of films at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, back in October of 2014. They previewed a timeline with the movie logos. Captain America 3 had the subtitle, Serpent Society, as a joke, before eventually dropping the bomb that it would be an adaptation of Civil War.
Kevin Feige and pals may have been joking about using the snake-themed baddies for a Captain America movie. But they’ll still be in the MCU, after all.
The next Netflix/Marvel show will be Luke Cage. It has been reported that his main antagonist will be Cottonmouth, a classic Cage villain, and member of the Serpent Society. Now, photos have been released of Diamondback, another member of the gang.

There are two Diamondbacks in the Marvel universe: Rachel Leighton and Willis Stryker (not to be confused with X-Men villain, William Stryker). The Diamondback of Luke Cage will be Stryker, as he has had a history with the unbreakable hero.
According to marvel.wikia.com, “Willis Stryker was born and raised in Harlem, New York City. He grew up on the street alongside Carl Lucas, his best friend and future partner……A girl named Reva Connors loved them both but was more attracted to Carl. Willis, devastated by jealousy, framed him by hiding drugs where Carl lived……….Carl changed his name to Luke Cage and escaped from prison thanks to his bullet proof skin and searched for revenge. Luke Cage was attacked by hitmen hired by Diamondback. When the attack failed, Diamondback had his inventor, Gadget-Man, create new, gimmicked switch blades to deal with Cage.”
Add Luke Cage to your Netflix list when season one uploads on September 30th.
