With the rights for Blade in the shadows at Marvel, fans have been questioning if plans were to come to fruition soon, or even include the original Vampire Hunter, Wesley Snipes himself.
Snipes was the star of the first Blade trilogy, the original R-rated Marvel films to reach success at the time with its $200 million in domestic records. It’s also worth noting that the third film, Blade Trinity, featured Ryan Reynolds as Hannibal King, which was the closest we got to the Merc with a Mouth before Deadpool.
Snipes teased on Twitter his side of the answer in two brief tweets:

Balls in Marvels court…
— Wesley Snipes (@wesleysnipes) May 24, 2016
Of course this is not the first time he mentioned it, but especially with the development of Marvel Netflix and their comfort in making more adult-oriented series based on Marvel properties such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, it doesn’t go out of the question for a return to the gristly violent world of Blade.
In the meantime, as Blade himself said, the ball’s in Marvel’s court.
