On May 18th, the Warner Brothers Studio Tour Hollywood Facebook page, posted a video of DC Universe: The Exhibit. One minute and thirty-three seconds in, tour guide, John Kourounis, says:
“This was one of the big things from Batman v Superman, right across this way. The Jason Todd/Robin suit…….Spray painted on the front, ‘Ha-Ha. The joke’s on you Batman.’ Those of you that know the storyline, know what happened to this Robin.”
Ever since the trailers featured the suit, with the signature graffiti, fans have speculated that the particular Robin was indeed Jason Todd. Furthermore, speculations were that the solo Batfleck movie would flashback to the events of the comic arc, “Death in the Family,” and utilize “Under the Hood” as the main story line.
In such, Joker beats Jason Todd, the second Robin, to death with a crowbar. Then, in “Under the Hood,” it is learned that Ra’s Al Ghul paid Joker to do so, but only to scare him. When Ra’s learns that Todd was indeed killed, he feels guilty, and resurrects him with his Lazarus Pitt. Thus, Todd takes on his killer’s former identity, and becomes the new Red Hood.
While this comes as little to no surprise, we can be rest assured, as this is the closest we’ll get to confirmation, until that movie eventually is released. In which, there is no official release date just yet.
However, another rumor will be revealed or debunked when Suicide Squad hits screens August 5th. It is still a mystery on who Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott, will be playing. Some say he’ll be Roy Harper, a.k.a. Arsenal, Green Arrow’s sidekick. Some say Deathstroke. Some even say Nightwing, who was the first Robin.
Also in Suicide Squad, Ben Affleck will reprise his role as Batman. He’ll again reprise him in next year’s Wonder Woman, June 2nd, 2017, and Justice League: Part One, November 17th, 2017.
