It’s been the general assumption that when the Justice League unite in 2017 film of the same name, it will be to take on one of DC’s biggest foes Darkseid. But a recent report from Birth.Movies.Death reveals that this year not actually be the case.
If you don’t want to know, look away now.
The report, which comes from Devin Faraci goes on to reveal that the films big bad will in fact be Steppenwolf, Darkseid’s uncle and leader of the Apokolips Military. It’s been rumored that the alien being seen talking to Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor in the Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice deleted scene was in fact Steppenwolf, albeit with a different look to his comic counterpart.
The site also reveals that while Steppenwolf will be the films primary villain, Darkseid will actually have a presence during the films finale, setting up his role in the Justice League Part Two in 2019. They also explained that the characters who are set to have solo films, Aquaman and The Flash, will be in real time, meaning that they will actually take place between the end of Justice League Part One and the beginning of Justice League Part Two. This seems to imply that the storyline will be wrapped up in the first part rather than feature a cliffhanger.
With the Zack Snyder helmed film currently in production we should hopefully be seeing some details emerge in the coming months. We’ll see DC’s first team up when Justice League Part One hits our screens November 17th, 2017.
