2020 will see the Green Lantern Corps hit the big screen in the film of the same name, with it will be the live action debut of Green Lantern, John Stewart. There’s been plenty of names thrown around by various fans for the role, but now the ultimate fanboy himself, Kevin Smith has put forth his own choice for the role and it will definitely get fans talking.
Taking to his Twitter page, the Clerks director threw his support behind 21 Jump Street actor, Ice Cube. This endorsement came about after Smith came across a recent piece of Fan Art by Melbourne based artist, BossLogic, which gave us a look at what the actor would look like in the role. You can check out the tweet below.
LOVE it! Would be amazing! "Either they don't know, don't show, or don't care about what's going on in Sector 2814." https://t.co/T7xerg7cbe

Green Lantern Corps is set to introduce both John Stewart and the DCEU version of Hal Jordan, a character previously played by Ryan Reynolds before he traded his ring for the Katanas and Mask as Deadpool. So far no official casting has been announced although Fast and Furious actor Tyrese Gibson has been lobbying for the role for the last few years. Hopefully we should be given an announcement at this years Comic Con.
