Star Wars: Episode VIII has been shooting for the past two months under the supervision of the new director Rian Johnson, with some interesting rumors coming about the plot of the next installment, from Laura Dern’s character role to as well as Leia Organa coping with a medical condition. However, the most exciting one may bring some eyes and hearts up for an old, green puppet-like friend.
‘Making Star Wars’ has brought up that Frank Oz, who has given us the iconic Yoda, will be physically present at Pinewood Studios, where the location of Episode VIII will be filming. Whether he actually has a part in the filming is what’s to be speculated.
If that were the case, the next question going in will be his physical portrayal. It could be that Yoda may be brought back to his puppet form from the original films, or perhaps digital imagery may play into effect since characters such as Maz Kanata have undergone that interpretation as well.
However, nothing is set in stone aside from rumors. Talks of Oz and recording “a whole bunch of Yoda” for an actual scene in Episode VII: The Force Awakens did not make it into the final cut, so this interaction with Mr. Oz might only be taken with a grain of salt. We can only take our time and keep ourselves in anticipation.
Fans and moviegoers alike can get their latest Star Wars fix with Rogue One’s teaser tomorrow. Episode VII: The Force Awakens is available on Blu-Ray now.
