The rising expansion of DC’s Theatrical Universe has only started to take its podium to go against Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, but that isn’t stopping the breaking of box office records and fan appeal for either side. As always, the phenomena of the franchises has grown to the common question of “what if” scenarios with any interaction between the two distinct universes in their respective fandoms.
Youtuber Shawn Nider took the idea to an experimental trailer for both franchises, mixing it up with films from both companies (and a dash of DC’s Flash tv show) to make this kind of reality a visual tease. Enter “Avengers vs. Justice League: The Worlds Collide”, a trailer showing immense action, destruction and a common trend that 2016 really is the year heroes can’t learn to get along.
Although an amusing idea for April Fools, the day of these worlds colliding might not come any time soon, let alone the logos side-by-side in any release. In the meantime, that population of the fans will have to settle in dreams and fan-made edits like this one.
According to the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki:
The Avengers, also known as the Heroes of New York, are a team of extraordinary individuals, either with superpowers or other special characteristics. Its purpose is to protect world stability from inner or extraterrestrial threats, and to work with the peaceful interests of the whole world rather than a specific country or organization. The Avengers were first assembled by S.H.I.E.L.D. when Loki invaded Earth with his Chitauri army to conquer the planet. The team defeated him and went to their separate ways.
After S.H.I.E.L.D. became a defunct agency, Stark Industries remodeled Stark Tower into Avengers Tower and the team joined the fight against HYDRA. After they finished the war, Tony Stark built Ultron hoping that the AI would be able to defend the world from any threats necessary. The plan backfired and Ultron started a war against humanity, ending with Ultron’s defeat. When Ultron was defeated, the team gained new recruits and relocated to the New Avengers Facility.
According to the DC Comics Database:
The Justice League is the DC Universe’s most powerful and premier superhero team, a strike force comprised of the world’s mightiest heroes. They act as stalwart protectors of sentient life; Earth’s first line of defense against terrestrial, extra-terrestrial, inter-dimensional and supernatural threats. There have been many members over the years and several incarnations of the team, but the original group was founded by Aquaman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The Justice League of America was created by Julius Schwartz and Gardner Fox during the Silver Age as a spiritual successor to the Golden Age’s Justice Society of America, first appearing in Brave and the Bold #28.
