James Gunn is currently filming the sequel to his widely successful Marvel film, Guardians of the Galaxy, and managed to take the time to broadcast from his trailer at the Pinewood Studios lot.
One fan asked if there were any properties outside of comic books that he’d enjoy working on, and he had this to say:
“Right now I really am just concerned with doing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. I’m not sure what I’m going to do after this… Marvel has talked to me about continuing on. I’m not sure if that’s what I want to do or if that’s not what I want to do. I really just want to make Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 the greatest possible movie that I can, and something that’s as honest and sincere and true as it can possibly be.”
This means Marvel is surely planning more Guardians films, even though Gunn himself is not yet sure he wants to work on them.
The future for Marvel is only revealed up to about 2019, so there’s no telling what to expect other than the Guardians are more than likely to return.
