When it comes to comic book movies, the actors tend to either embrace the role or merely see it as ‘just another job’. It sounds as though we can put Sally Field in the latter.
Field, who portrayed Aunt May in Amazing Spider-Man franchise was recently a guest on ‘The Howard Stern Show’ where Stern asked whether she enjoyed the movie to which the actress replied:
“Not especially. It’s not my kind of movie. But my friend Laura Ziskin was the producer, and we knew it would be her last film, and she was my first producing partner, and she was a spectacular human.”
The Forest Gump actress then went on to reveal that she didn’t put too much thought into playing the role:
“Because it’s really hard to find a three dimensional character in it, and you work it as much as you can, but you can’t put ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag.”
Given that the character is really only a supporting role in the character’s story it makes sense that she would feel this way.
Let’s just hope that the next actress to take the role, Marissa Tomei enjoys it a bit more.
