Something that many fans have been asking about the upcoming Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is will we be seeing longtime Batman ally Commisioner James Gordon in the film? Well now we seem to have an answer to that question.
The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively revealed that Jim Gordon will be portrayed in 2017’s Justice League: Part One by none other than J.K. Simmons. This isn’t Simmons’ first foray into the world of comic book movies, the Whiplash actor previously received acclaim for his portrayal of Peter Parkers frustrated boss J. Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy.
The character has appeared with Batman in nearly every form of media since the characters inception in 1939, with Ben McKenzie currently splaying the role on Fox’s Gotham while the most recent cinematic incarnation was portrayed by Gary Oldman in the Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.
The film is set to begin filming next month so we can expect more casting announcements to come out in the coming weeks. Whether the actor has filmed a cameo for Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice remains to be seen, but if not we can expect to see his moustache grace our screens when Justice League: Part One hits theatres November 17th 2017.
