Several characters have been confirmed to appear in Thor: Ragnarok and it’s already shaping up to be a massive film. Thor and Hulk are expected to be the main characters of the movie in a sort of “universal road trip”, and Cate Blanchett is playing the villain Hela.
However, we still don’t know much else about the movie yet; all we have now is confirmation of one character that will NOT be appearing in the next Thor movie: Stellen Skarsgård’s character Erik Selvig. He appeared in both Thor movies as well as in both Avengers movies, so he’s become a bit of a regular character by now. But as of now he’s out for the third Thor.
The reason? Probably because he has a five-movie contract, and he’s already been in four movies. Skarsgård himself has speculated as much. It seems that Marvel is probably saving Erik Selvig for use in Avengers: Infinity War. That two-part movie is already said to include up to a record-blasting sixty-seven characters, so it would be no surprise if they were doing that after all.
Are you upset that he’s not going to be in Thor 3? Are you still excited about the movie anyway? Let us know below!
