What Characters And Scenes Did DEADPOOL Cut Out?

    By Jesse BoroughFebruary 25, 2016
Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) pauses from a life-and-death battle to break the fourth wall, much to the dismay of his comrades Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic).

Deadpool isn’t getting a director’s cut, as the official word made clear, but there were indeed a lot of deleted scenes and a lot of cut content from the movie that would be very interesting to see.

The Youtube channel Mr. Movie Sunday detailed a lot of the stuff from Deadpool that we didn’t get to see. The list includes deleted scenes such as:

    • Wade travelling the world trying to get a cure for his cancer and being swindled out of his money
    • Wade, after the mutation, trying to kill himself in a montage, but continuously failing due to his regeneration.
    • Extended highway fight scene, cut due to budgetary reasons.
    • The original final battle was going to be a building rather than a large boat, and it was going to be Dredd-style “climbing the tower” action.

There were also several characters that were to appear, either as cameos or with full-fledged appearances, that were ultimately cut, including:

    • Taskmaster
    • Sluggo
    • Garrison Kane
    • Dr. Killbrew
    • Wolverine (Obviously)

Wolverine was actually only cut because of scheduling reasons, not because of budget or story constraints. It is very sad that we didn’t get another X-Men First Class-esque cameo, but at least the rest of Deadpool was still great.
