After months of rumors, speculation, denials, and more rumors, it’s official: Kurt Russel has joined that cast of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
This information was confirmed at the very end of the cast list in a press release from Marvel Studios today. This list also confirmed the return of many characters from the first film (such as Nebula, Yondu, and Kraglin) but also made a few new players official as well. This includes Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Dibicki, and Chris Sullivan. Writer/Director Gunn took to twitter to confirm that Klentieff will be playing Mantis.
