After years of development hell, a feature Deadpool story will be gracing the screens this weekend. A big reason Deadpool was able to escape said hell was due to test footage that leaked, reigniting interest and showing audiences everywhere that all the players seemed to be getting the character and tone right. It’s said that Fox greenlit Deadpool 24 hours after the footage leaked. So it begs the question, who leaked to footage?
While on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Ryan Reynolds dropped some not so subtle hints as to who the culprit is:
“I know that one of us did it. There’s four of us: me, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Tim Miller the director. We all said at the beginning that someone should leak it, so the idea was planted, but I’m 70 percent sure it wasn’t me.”
While Reynold’s is only admitting things with a certain level of snark, it’s not hard to believe that someone who wanted to get the film actually made could be the one who leaked the footage.
Who do you think did it? Tell us below!
