First Harley Quinn, then Deadshot, most recently Amanda Waller, and now Deathstroke. Suicide Squad is gonna be an awesome movie. But it does not bode well for Arrow fans.
Unlike Marvel, all of DC’s rights sit at Warner Brothers. They are able to use any character they please, in any of their projects. However, somebody feels that it is not a good idea to have two different versions of a character at the same time. This makes me worry about the Flash by the time Ezra Miller hits the big screen.
In Season 2, Episode 16 of Arrow, entitled “Suicide Squad,” John Diggle joined the titular team. Among the members whom were incarcerated, one was not let out. You could hear a tiny voice claim she was a psychiatrist. A member who was allowed on most every mission, Deadshot, was killed in Season 3, Episode 17, called “Suicidal Tendacies.” On the recent episode, 4×11, “A.W.O.L.,” Amanda Waller has been killed.
The latest character to be taken off the table, most likely in lieu of Suicide Squad, is Manu Bennett’s Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. Last we saw of him, he was in Oliver’s makeshift prison on Lian Yu, the island he was stranded on in his origins. He was let out for Thea’s father, Merlyn, to show her a lesson in training. Bennett has expressed his irritability at the way his character was used in his last performance. But he said that he would return if the plot was right.
Sadly, showrunner Marc Guggenheim has given us news that may keep Slade in that prison for quite a long time, as he said “The character of Slade Wilson is currently tied up in another DC project.” Many believe that Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott’s undisclosed role in the upcoming picture is indeed Deathstroke. But no matter who will play him, it looks as though he’ll appear on the big screen soon.
This raises the question of who’ll they take next from the Arrowverse, Supergirl (unofficially of the Arrowverse) or Gotham. Will Ben McKenzie Last? Sound off below!
